TCU is a national championship contender in 2010 and is 18-1 on the NCAA betting line to win it all. It’s not out of the question that the TCU Horned Frogs may go undefeated, and TCU should be preferred in NCAA lines in all of their matches this year.
NCAA betting lines prefer TCU in their starter as they host Oregon State on September 4th. The following week the TCU Horned Frogs will also be preferred versus Tennessee Tech. The only competition that TCU may be an longshot in would be late in the year at Utah but if the TCU Horned Frogs are undefeated going into that competition they would almost definitely be favorite, even on the road at Utah.
As they ended 5th in the country in scoring, TCU was a juggernaut last year. They’ve got 9 starters back such as quarterback Andy Dalton. The TCU Horned Frogs are still very excellent on that side of the ball, even though the defense did lose Jerry Hughes and Daryl Washington.
Going into the 2010 NCAA year, TCU has very few weaknesses. The main concern on offense is at right tackle. They should genuinely roll on offense if the TCU Horned Frogs find a remedy at that spot. The defense does want to have Tank Carder and Kris Gardner healthy at linebacker since that position is weaker than in previous seasons.
If Dalton doesn’t turn the ball over, the TCU Horned Frogs may go undefeated this year. In the last 29 matches, TCU is 25-1 when Dalton throws 1 interception or less. When he throws numerous interceptions they’re 0-2. The TCU Horned Frogs are a perfect 22-0 when Dalton doesn’t throw any interceptions.
TCU has a genuinely favorable schedule to make a run at a perfect year. They’ll be faced by Oregon State in the starter vs NCAA lines but that competition is in Arlington which is about as close to a home game as you are able to get. If the Horned Frogs are to lose in any way it will probably come on the road and the only tricky road game comes late in the year at Utah. That competition may wind up deciding the Mountain West champion and a BCS bowl bid.
TCU is now coached by Gary Patterson, who has been with the team for 9 seasons. He has amassed 85 victories which sets him in second place on the TCU career win chart. He’s also the only coach in school history to have six 10-win seasons. The only year that his team failed to reach a bowl game was 2004, and the Frogs have earned a spot in the Final Top 25 7 times. Before accepting the position with TCU in December 2000, he was an assistant head coach at a variety of different schools. He was titled the 2005 Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year. He even refused a job offer from Minnesota worth over $2 million to stay at TCU. He directed the Frogs to a perfect 12-0 record last season.
